OMEGA Instruction Book

Excellent,

I've been searching all over for a instruction book. Is it possible for you to scan the pages about the option buttons & post it on here, because i can't work out what programmes work with the rapid wash & the hand wash buttons. Great to know that you have the same or a similar machine. They are awesome machines that were built to last.

Many Thanks Craig

Omega 100 instruction booklet

Hi Craig.
I will scan the manual for you as soon as I can when new cartridges arrive for my printer/scanner. (Typical Epson. ie. no ink? printer not ready so scanner won't work) Don't you just love it. Should be here soon. If no good (manual is very wrinkly)then I'll photograph the pages through clear glass and see if that does the trick. Either way I'll get it to you somehow.I might post some piccs of mine soon. I painted it to match the kitchen doors using kitchen cupboard paint. Turned out ok too.... I think. If you know of any spares being available I'd appreciate any info you might have. In particular the brown plastic plinth that covers the water pump outlet filter.

Indesit

Our printer at work is a Epson & that wont let you scan unless you have ink in it even though ink isn't required for scanning. It would be great to see your Omega on here, i wonder if its the same model or maybe a different spin speed. I will check on line to see if any of our suppliers have any brown plinths because mine is missing but i doubt very much that any will be available. Looking forward to the pics!

Hi there, and congratulations on your find !
I had a very similar looking Indesit bought in 1988, it was the first washing machine I had on my own.
It was a more basic model with a grey fascia, a second dial for infinite temperature and only three buttons (ON/OFF, Half Load, 500/1000). It also was a cold fill only. The numbers on the timer, detergent drawer, drum etc. were 100% identical.
One thing was totally different. My washer had a VERY noisy brush type motor. I assume yours must be an induction motor, otherwise you wouldn`t have said it was a silent washer. On mine one could also hear the belt slip at the commence of each tumble unless it was running almost empty and it also spent a lot of time just sitting around and doing nothing. So I guess they came with different motors.
I had also trouble with the door seal, it was getting sticky like chewing gum, so I got rid of it when warranty had expired.

Find it amazing they are still out there in good working condition.
Thanks for bringing back the memory!

There is no induction motor on this, it has a ceset brush motor but to me it's much quieter than todays brush motors. I think your the second person that has said that it just sits around doing nothing this is just not true it goes through stages of maybe 5 long then 5 short tumbles which i find produces a far better wash performance also the distribution speed just short of sticking the laundry to the sides of the drum seem a far better way of balancing the load when going into spin compared to lets say a Hotpoint 95 series machine.

User manual Omega 1000

Hi Craig.
One new black cartridge and hey presto! the scanner is now working...lol. Here's the manual scanned for you. The final 2 pages are not here due to being stuck together for several years thanks to getting wet, though the rest is here though some pages are also not 100% complete but I don't think this will affect its use. Hope this helps. The all important "programmes chart" fortunately is intact. now lets see if I can get it on here.

Page 3 Unfortunately one of the few pages that are damaged. a portion of page 5 is showing through the torn area. i have used a blank sheet behind the rest of the damaged ones.

Omega 1000

Thank you so very much for scanning the instruction book. Now i finally get to know what programmes work with the option buttons Hand wash & rapid wash. I have tried so hard to find a brown plinth but with no success. Would love to see a picture of your machine. Once again many thanks Craig.

I got an old Indesit!

Hello, I know this was ages ago but hey, this is the only reference to these machines I can find on the net!I've got a W822R, it came from a house clearance place where a few of my machines have come from now. It works fine, it's cleaned up well bar the door seal which will be replaced (Litterally just ordered it). These machines are far better than I thought they'd be!

Anyway, here's mine.

cleaning the filter/pump

Hi there, I have an INDESIT PRESTIGE OMEGA 1000. Lovely machine but I wondered if anyone knew how to unscrew the pump and extract the filter? I've got the plinth off and pump is on lefthand side. But I've not been able to get any further. Is this just a case of unscrewing the central screw? Machine not draining at moment. Thanks.

Omega 1000 has spun its final load

The machine did drain again. I'd cleaned out the filter. But now it's not spinning so I'm afraid it's sayonara, old friend. If she is useful to anyone for parts, please let me know. I am in Sidcup, southeast London.

Non-spinning issues can usually be resolved, we've had a few such cases posted here in recent months... talk to people here before you break it! A new thread might help...
