Hi as an owner of a 12 year old Dishwasher When were they introduced in the UK and were they top loading,

I knew of them in 1980 in Australia, and they were front loading. Can't tell you when they started manufacture though.

Just playing catch up on all the threads - apologies for the delayed response.
Nott too au fait with Indesit and its dishwashers, but I think (might be wrong) that they were introduced to the UK in the 70s (don't think they were 60s).
Indesits UK offerings have all been front loading (top loading dishwashers had died off by the end of the 60s) and probably looked something like this style, which ran until about 1983, when the range was restyled.
Generally their model numbers began LS.

The deluxe brand of Indesit was Hirundo and one of their earlier offerings was the HLS-12S...
