Indiana Mini Wash-In

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hey Rick, Seeing that GE again brings back memories. Had a tough time getting it out of the basement that it was in, my brother and I had to wheel it thru the living room of the house, it would not fit thru the basement door! But seeing how beautiful it looks and how much its appreciated I know that the effort to save it was worth it. Glad you have it and enjoy it!

The Power of GE

The Whirlpool is a nice and relaxing kind of washer but that GE just has all out oomph. That grunting motor and that fast agitation makes for some good washing. So sad all that went away in the 90s. Filter-Flo's are so fun in their own right.

If I were to have a few "Essential" vintage machines, I'd find a belt-drive whirlpool/kenmore, a GE Filter Flo and any GM Frigidiare.

GRANDMA'S FILTER FLO!

I was so excited to see that washer! - I have pictures of me on my grandmothers when i was a little boy - i'm 27 now. That 64 filter flo was the one that started it all and almost that exact model except hers had a slanted top where the light fixture was and the left side controls had words on both the left and right of the switches. I miss that machine - i only wish i could have kept it but at age 10 when she got rid of it foor a MOL Kenmore (sorry but NO COMPARRISON) i was so upset and my father wouldn't have anymore junk in our house. I already had a whole pile of random appliannce parts laying around. I used to collect drain hoses. Of course the GE metal hook was my favourite. I DO however have the original all rubbber drainhose from grandma's GE - the only piece left....

Thanks for sharring and what a beautiful machine!

Matt

If I find my pics I wil scan them and upload them.
