Info on GE Jet-Swirl

I just came into posession of matching turquoise Jet-Swirl dispensers. One is for liquid detergent and the other is for fabric softener. Does anyone know what they may be worth if anything?

I wonder what the difference between these two dispensers is ? From the outside they look identical except for the color.

I also think the color shade difference is so you know which one you are grabbing to use..thats a guess but it kinda makes sense.

The fabric softener dispenser has an opening around the top of the dispenser to allow Filter-Flo water to enter the outer chamber and flush out the softener in the rinse. When it spins after wash, the softener is retained in a shallow well instead of dribbled into the washbasket, preventing staining from undiluted product. When rinse Activation begins, the softener is flushed out and into the load. This also keeps the unit from getting gunky with dried softener that is inaccessible to clean.

I've not had or seen in person the liquid detergent dispenser so can't say for sure but I suspect it works like a regular spin-out dispenser. After the prewash, the detergent is dribbled into the load and I'd imagine the water stream also keeps the bottom of that somewhat clean as well.

Obviously, you'd have to choose between detergent and softener - you can't have both in the same load without a trip back to the machine ;-)

It's likely that these two dispensers did not come from the same machine. The first time I saw one of these "Pre-Wash" dispensers it was in the TTTTOL GE Filter-Flo at Macy's. The fabric softener dispenser on this machine was the good one: a solenoid controlled dispenser with a well built into the underlid that would dispense during the final rinse whether the user chose an Extra Rinse or not. The Pre-wash was optional too, and if one wanted to "set-up" the machine so they never had to return for adding anything, this dispenser was provided. A couple of years later they remodeled this thing into a "Lost in Space" spaceship looking thing that could dispense powdered detergent as well (it held the detergent aloft on its little tower during the pre-wash spin and then dropped down to the filter-pan for the main wash where the recirculation could get to it), which was incorporated into the first iteration of Dispensall lid. This is a picture of that second dispenser ( I so wish I had had the chutzpah to save it) from another member posted years ago. It worked:

Hey Ken - I think that picture of the drop-down dispenser is one of mine, I still have that dispenser anyway. It came with the gold dispensall, along with a standard FS dispenser that was in the Dispensall machine I found here. The Dispensall was missing the tray for the under-lid system so I would imagine they had the agitator mounted dispensers to replace it. The guy worked for the GE distributor and had lots of GE toys and promo stuff so I'm sure it was easy for him to get all the goodies!

FS Dispenser

I am also looking for a FF FS dispenser that will fit the older GE's with the larger diameter FF hat. In anyone has one they'd like to sell, I'm game as well.
