Info on the ge topload washer with power rinse with its matching dryer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I owned a set of GE top loaders which I bought new in 2004. The GE washer was making strange creaking noises about 6 years after I bought it. My guess is that the struts holding the tub in place needed to be lubricated.

Personally, I thought my GE didn't do a very good job of washing my clothing and had a tendency to rip and tear it as well. Maybe it was due to operator error, but I wasn't impressed with it.

Modern GE's use a mode selector which usually fails a few short years into the operation of the machine. Not to mention they sound like a car alarm going off.

Pierre, don't chintz out and try to save money by buying something crappy. Get your hands on a decent Huebsch top loader or front loader with a decent warranty on it. If you choose anything else, you'll end up regretting it.

Don't buy a machine just for its looks, buy it for its reliability and design.

Hang on....

You mean there has been a dead bird stuck in your dryer vent for 8 years!?

I bet that smelled lovely...

*shudders*

thank you for all the info

i would like to say a big thank you to all aw members as i think my mind is made up here are my choice by order

1-huebsch top load washer model zwn432 with matching dryer (depending on price)

2 the ge topload washer with power rinse

3- the new kenmore whirlpool made topload with lid lock with agitator

4-the new whirlpool topload load washer with agitator

with there matching dryers

Huebsch is very competitive to GE and Kenmore/Whirlpool.

A ZWN432 washer is TOL for Canada. I think these sell for around $800-ish. The dryer is about the same.

There are a large variety of dryers you can choose from. Gas or Electric? The ZDE4BR (Electric) or the ZDG4BR (Gas) is the matching dryer to that washer.

You should be able to pick up this Huebsch set for less than $2000, including GST, PST, shipping and installation.

The Huebsch machines will outlast your other three choices by a longshot. Any extra money you spend on this set will be worth it IMO.
