Inside a Bosch

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

According to the parts list, this one also has the BLDC drive. It seems the be the only pump BSH is using now. This US version also fills up with more water.

Seems like the Thermador is a bit more powerful, probably due to alternating arms.

What is that little three-holed mushroom on the bottom of the bosch?

My Miele Pro had a similar device and it had always been puzzling.

Bosh Asentia,

Don't run it on high temp cycle every time. My sister's control board fried after only three years. Before that, the detergent dispenser didn't work.
What can be expected of a $400 machine?

Thank you; don't I feel rather silly now...

Been reading some Bosch/Thermador stories lately (pissedconsumer.com) and really am puzzled.
It seems like BSH is nothing like the European stuff here; yet my Bosch condensing dryer was absolutely fantastic.

Upgrading my clunky Frigidaire dishwasher seems tougher than anticipated.

washingpoweder,

Please, no need to feel silly. We pay for quality, but don't always get it.
Bosch US appliances are different than in Europe.
Although, their higher priced dishwashers are very similar. I can't advise, as my other sisters $800 one is only two years old.
Our kids have a three year old $600 Kenmore stainless model and love it. It is stainless inside also, and has a handle, and top door edge controls.
Exactly like a comparable Kitchen Aid also by Whirlpool. Very quiet also.

I have a Bosch dishwasher for the last 6 years.

I paid around $950 canadian, at Sears. (After a rebate of $200.00 approximately)

It is built in the USA. I have been running it every 2 or 3 days, for the last 6 years.

Never had a problem. Extremely quiet, and cleans extremely well. I clean the filter every 6 weeks maybe, and there's never anything there. My upper rack can be lowered. I always leave it at the low position. I can fit anything in both racks. Tall glasses, pots and pans.

I would buy another Bosch in a second.

I honestly think this is one of the ever more common situation where a Brand is effectively counterfitting themselves. I think it made more sense to brand different (i.e. Scion vs Toyota) than just model line different, but the Asentia has almost nothing in common to say the 800 series except the logo. I'm sure there are many who thing "what a steal, a Bosch DW for $400! Must be a sale!) when in fact it's designed and built to that price and hence is the same or lower quality (may be riding on brand name for more profit) as any other competitor at that price point.

Kenmore user

I am the user of a Kenmore dishwasher based off of the Bosch platform. Mine is very powerful especially on the second prewash. The first prewash runs at normal pressure. When it gets to the second, it gets at full blast pressure.
