Hello,

I am curious about the interchangeability of timers for KA DWs.

If I wanted or needed to put a working timer on a machine, could I use one from a newer or older machine. I know on the 16 and older, there’s all the wires individually connected to the timer. And then, at some point in the future, the timer was moved up into the door. How “far” can you go forward or back from the model? Is there really anything to be improved cycle wise by using a newer model timer.

Interchangeability of KitchenAid dishwasher timers

There is very little interchangeability much too complicated a question to answer, I did find one or two cases where you could substitute a KDI 17 timer with a KDC17 that’s the only example I can think of.

You could theoretically interchange timers if you can figure out a way to mount them and rewire them, they all basically do the same thing that is true.

I had a hunch

So they really have to come from the same series, and I figured as much.

No need for one now. Thought maybe I could make a superior wash from an older machine, just for fun. But if there is no benefit, I won’t bother.
