My parents came to town today. Dad's birthday, and my septic system was scheduled to be repaired after the neighbor's fence-building crew drilled through the pump line (mostly because the IDIOT septic contractor [dad and I both used to work for them] had run it outside the property line ... but I digress). Anyway, dad made a trip to town for a few things and ran into one of my mother's cousins, who ended up coming by for a visit as well. He has been working for an appliance repair company that covers the area. He hadn't been to my house before. Took one look at the GE 'fridge and range, said "When that goes out, don't even think about getting it fixed, just get you some new Whirlpool stuff."

Went off on a mini rant about washers with all kinds of extra cycles and water levels. Said those with 5 or 6 or more water levels marked on the switch are a joke, they really only have 3. (Ohhhh really????)

He had a brief look-see at the DishDrawer, and IWL12 and DEGX1. Interestingly, he made a remark about "somebody in Egypt has a set of those" (in reference to the washer & dryer). I gave him some quick info about the IWL12 having auto fabric sensing. He just kinda shook is head, LOL. Later mom told me he had said that I "blew his mind" about that stuff.

He also had a quick look at the WO-65, and was impressed.

He made an intriguing remark "You should see some of the old stuff at the shop."

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Glenn, you hold your ground boy!

Then, the folk who is most likely to interrupt your or anyones eleses items, machines, property is a jealous bitch! He wants what you have, PERIOD. What a nice ending!

Interesting story...I wonder what he has?? Maybe we need to plan a little day-trip to the shop and check it out...hopefully there will be something good! Of course you'll have to add on to your laundry room and put in some extra connections...;-)

Catch that goose!!

I'll bet it's a wringer ;-)

People seem to think wringers are soo---o sought after and valuable, I've had several insistent calls to come look at "the oldest washer I've ever seen" or "you're going to love this washer I have..." I've only brought home two was the E2L, which was MINT under a layer of protective chicken grease and came with a DE806 dryer of the same vintage as my 906 so I scavenged it for parts. The other was the pink 1960 Kenmore wringer that Scott O. now has.
