That range is a model made from 1948 or so until about 1952, before production moved to Louisville Appliance Park. This was probably made in the Columbia, MO. plant. The '57 models were the first of the squared-off style that ran thru sometime in the 80's. Nevertheless, looks to be a nice one.
My dad used to use the term "dead nuts" usually to describe things like measurements or alignments when constructing or building something in much the same way as "dead on" would be used. No idea where it came from.
Being a gay man, I have a natural aversion to using any reference that implies nuts are dead.
