hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I am on a mission to either buy a second new front loader and dryer, or, if I find the right deal, a used set. These would be my second machines in the house. I work 6 days a week, and primarily do laundry on Sundays. I have owned front loaders for about 12 years. My first set was a Maytag Neptune with the rear control panel. I LOVED that washer! Yes, I ended up with mold issues, I suspect a portion of those issue were caused by me. I replaced the boot and sold the set. I then went to LG Tromm. I had quite a few problems with the washer. My Husband got to be very good at repairing it himself. I sold that set to my Daughter a year and a half ago, and they are still going strong for her. I purchased a Samsung washer and dryer(model numbers WF350ANG and DV350AEG) so far, so good, they have never let me down*knock wood*.
I went to Saskatoon today, and had a fabulous time checking out the Sears store. So many different machines!! It was like the angels were singing
I also stopped by Coast Appliances specifically to see the Miele washers and dryers in person. I was disappointed to learn that they did not have the model I was interested in, in stock(3033) the sales person there told me that I would not even be able to open the dryer or the other washer that they had on the floor as there was no power going to them. He said that is there was a power outage, whatever clothes were in the units would be stuck in there until the power came back on. Is that true???
I have also gone to my local appliance repair place and found a set of Bosch washers and dryers-model number WFMC3200UC. The ironic thing is, before I ordered my LG's, Sears had this exact set on the floor, blowout pricing. I bought them, took them home, and had them sitting downstairs. The more I looked at them, the more I decided I wanted the LG's. The Bosch's went back, and the LG's were ordered. Imagine the irony I felt when I ran across this set..I wondered if it was the set that I bought, and returned un-used... This set is very dirty, it will need a really good cleaning. I asked the gentleman that does the repairs what he did to repair it. He told me that a little old lady owned it, that it was only about a year old * cough cough bull$h!t* She told him that the washer quit, the dryer quit..he suspected she wanted a new set. He said he ran it for 3 days and it ran like a top.90 day warranty on used. They are asking 900.00 for the set. I wouldn't pay that!
My dilemma is: do I buy a used set with 90 day warranty, or a new set with one year warranty..for about 1000.00 difference? Thanks to all in advance.
