Great site, but it seems to reside on a not-so-great server. Loading is super slow for me, but it eventually gets the job done -- at what seems like dial-up speed.
The monthly top ten pages display relatively quickly, though. I was surprised to see when I made my first selection of January 1960 that ranked at #3 was "The Big Hurt" by Miss Toni Fisher. IMO, one of the (if not the) most bizarre pop music arrangements ever with its "flanging" effect and pitch changes. It's enough to make a person dizzy -- or inspire a dizzy drag queen to do karaoke. I was both enthralled and bewitched by it (in a so-bad-it's-good sort of way) the first time I heard it, and just within the past couple of months found the original 45 and wasted no time in adding it to my jukebox.
Thanks for posting. This is a great tool to help me spot labels on those increasingly rare occasions when I discover a stack of 45's at a thrift store.

The site may well be run off a less-than-ideal homegrade internet connection: Often, small hobby sites are run from home-serving environments as a hobby - no fees or dealing with companies that drift in and out of existence. Pull the plug whenever you like.
Here's something similar that I've come across looking for the folk "Run Along Home Cindy" by Arden Folk.
These sorts of sites are pretty cool to find what otherwise would be condemned to the dustbin of history. I'm sure a lot of work goes into making these setups.

RP2813, I agree, the server is quite slow. I liked the set up of the site and would simply copy and paste to YouTube, then listen from there. So many of the songs that I loved were forgotten and I liked seeing the old 45rpm vinyl tags.

Yippie-skip! There it is, the song I played obsessively when barely old enough to put needle to vinyl: From June 1960, "Alley Oop" by The Hollywood Argyles.
The Argyles weren't really a band, simply singer/producer Gary Paxton, co-producer Kim Fowley, and a group of studio musicians.

Hey Fridge/Eugene...I enjoyed it too. The server is slow as mentioned above. However, the 45's with the record band actually load somewhat more quickly than the songs themselves. I simply cut and paste the name of the song to YouTube and have some fun. Artcurus, you are so right..I lost several hours / days playing and reminiscing with these songs. Glad you guys enjoyed them too!
