This "Pure" business reminds me of Breyers "all natural" Ice Cream. Loads of sugar, and pitiful cream content.

I, too, would rather have zero scent on my dishes. I don't like scents, as those who remember my rants about scented laundry detergents will attest. But they can be tolerated, say, on a shirt. I do not tolerate them on dishes.

Although, my cooking the way it is, maybe the scent of the Cascade would be more appealing than a serving of my "Just What Is This Slop Surprise." LOL

Although maybe Cascade will have an unscented version at some point. I recall the Tide purclean being only available with scent when new (and a lot of people hated that fact, either because they hated the scent, or else they didn't want any scent). A short period later, an unscented version came out.

It must be a plot

Because cannot find neither Tide Purclean nor Simply Clean in unscented formulas. Checked every supermarket/shop for miles; none have either in stock.

Worse my local Rite Aid seems to no longer carry Tide Free and Gentle liquid. If this is true am going to be really upset as count on the frequent sales to stock up.

Want to try Tide SC in unscented as it is the one version from P&G that doesn't have OBAs. A bit of a feat since every other version of Tide is loaded with brightening agents.

Unscented Tide purclean is still available out here. I got a bottle in late August. I just checked Target.com, and they supposedly carry it--perhaps even if a local store doesn't have it, it can be ordered "ship to store." Also, AFAIK, this stuff has no OBAs.

Actually a Target is supposed to be opening in our neck of woods soon, so guess will have to wait. They've been on tear lately opening smaller versions to Target can expand in the NYC market.

If things get truly serious there is a new Target in East Village can pop into.

Cascade Pure

I’m looking forward to the product, but it will probably be priced higher than the standard product. I prefer the no dyes no added perfumes. Essential oils are more than fine for me.

There are generally no dyes or perfumes in DW detergents other than the silly lemon scented detergents that are pretty much gone.

at Cascadeclean.com, and it was not listed there. Is it at P & G's other site, homemadesimple.com ?

Is Seventh Generation, Bi-o-kleen, etc cutting into Cascade's sales that much?

Checking Cascade's web site, they offer various products in scents of Lemon, Fresh, and Citrus Breeze.

Finish lists Lemon, Orange, Fresh, and Baking Soda (maybe that's neutral?).

I use the Cascade pacs, either the Complete or Platinum, whatever's on sale as they both seem to work equally well for me.

 

According to the "Smart label" at P&G, both formulations contain perfume and colorants.  The line of powders contain perfumes but not colorants.

Also interesting that the marketers insist on making the liquids in the pacs colorful (and therefore more appealing to children.)   Maybe the next move will be to market "Free and Clear" dishwasher pacs.  Gotta cover every base.

I probably should have worded my response differently, yes there are some colorants in the tablets, but it does not color your dishes and if your DW rinses properly they do not leave a sent on the clean dishes, regular Platinum Cascade is a great product that dose not harm either the user, the DW or the environment.

 

I would not take chances with a more expensive product that might not work as well or damage your dishes or DW.

Or we could just stick to the Cascade commercial fryer boil out, which is nothing more than the vintage Cascade.

The concern I have is that the dishwasher pac perfumes will get stronger until they actually become a problem leaving scents and/or taste on the dishes.

 

There seems to be a love for strongly scented everything among the masses and the technology has improved to give it to them.

I suspect that’s because strong scents would mask ineffective washing, be that from a lousy machine, or from sub-par detergents... leading the consumer to believe that the scented product was “more effective” than other unscented varieties, even if that wasn’t actually true.

"Perfume infused with essential oils" could mean anything like a drop per gallon of perfume oil.
Wonder how many fall for it thinking it`s all natural.
