Hi everyone, just want to give the heads up that I have recently created a new historical reference website, it is called Product Stat which is short for "Product Statistics". The new site "productstat.com" located at www.productstat.com. The materials on the site will be completely free and open to everyone, eventually I expect to the site to be ad supported.

The goal of the new site will be to archive materials and articles that aren't necessarily a good fit for Automatic Ephemera but still have valuable information to us lovers of older products.  I will present the vintage articles with a updated contemporary 2014 blog style look, making them easy to read and search.

I will add new materials when I can, I have 100's of reviews of products to post and will do often. So check Product Stat daily at first as I plan on adding lots of new materials through the upcoming fall season.

There will be different libraries with topics like Engineering, Manufacturing, Reviews, Safety Concerns, Industry Data, etc.

I've also added a social media aspect to this blog. If you look at the bottom of each post you will see social media share buttons, a Facebook like button and Facebook commenting system. If you are a Facebook user please click like or share any article that you enjoy. The more people that know about the site the better, so I appreciate the help.

All articles posted on the site I have received permission from the publishers to post or they will have fallen into the public domain.

Let me know what you all think! Thanks everyone.

I read the thread on the Norge washer first.

I thought the formatting was in your style, Robert.
I read the gas stove comparison article, since I'm renovating my kitchen around a Chambers range, and am glad to hear it rated well. The Kitchenaid A-9 article was good as well.

Thanks,
Dave

VERY COOL Robert!

I saw your post about the "New Norge" washer in Imperial and read through the entire article.   After I saw this post I went back and explored what else was there.   I like how there's a wide variety of products available to read about.

Thank you for creating another really great site!

Kevin

Thanks for this!  The clock radio review has my clock radio (which was not recommended, lol).

I have the Motorola C26; I haven't shocked myself yet, so hopefully it isn't a prediction...

"Motorola C 26W (Motorola Inc., Franklin Park, 111.) $34.95 ($31.88).  Would have been rated as a good set, if it had not shown excessive shock hazard."

Thanks Robert!

I read the review of the '63 Continental.  I've owned a '64 (convertible) and a '65, but the '63 has always been a favorite of mine.

I had to laugh about legroom being only "satisfactory" in the rear.

Lots of interesting reading in store for me, I'm sure.  Have you thought about placing a link to PS here on the AW site?

Hi Ralph, thank you, I'm glad you like my idea. Yes I probably will place a link in the header of the site at some point soon, the problem is there isn't a lot of room let at the top so I'll have to be creative.

I had to laugh about legroom being only "satisfactory" in the rear.
I know those cars by today's standards are like boats, lol and to think the leg room was just "satisfactory".

The rear seat of the '61-'63 Continentals does seem a little tight to me, for the size of car it is. In '64 the wheelbase was increased by 3 inches and all of it was given to rear passenger legroom. It's much better.

Robert, I'm guessing the Lincoln review and some others are from Consumers' Research Bulletin, but I don't see any attribution on the site. Is that intentional?

Nice site!

I liked the garage door opener article. I have a circa 1957 Alliance garage door radio system, it is just missing the vibrator. There is a Genie garage door opener in my garage that it can work with, but the motor is stuck: it just clicks when I press the button. I've been meaning to work on it but just haven't had the time.

Robert, that is a nifty blogish historical webpage, I'm sure it will grow into something wonderful as content is added!

The question I have is, last I checked you have the same 24 hours a day as all the rest of us do, how do you do it all?? Amazing...

Thanks for ALL that you do :)
