So here is why the bearings went - the bearing seal was put in the wrong way round! Cant be helped though.

Hotpoint WMA22

I cannot agree less! - I am not on the computer very often now either as i am busy trying to get permission to relay some railway on a route closed by Dr. Beeching in 1970 as well as making more videos for youtube. Back to Washers, I think if you do the job right, you can get a good few years out of that machine! - I know for sure that these machines were made when 50% Of hotpoint were owned by indesit, until 2007 when indesit took over for good. Anyway, Great Thread, and Happy Washing!

Actually...

Indesit bought GDA's share of Hotpoint in 2001, then bought the remainingn (USA I think?) share in 2007 or so.

Nice work.

You will need a cross piece as well as trying to recover these cross pieces normally ends in the customer recalling you to the job within the next 6 months.

(the bearing seal is in the correct way, its not possilble to put the seal in the incorrect way!)
