This 9TA business has me scratching my head, this is the same panel I've seen on the later dechromed units. Here's a pic of a 1981 RR-9T keypad...

Can't say as I've ever seen one like yours Veg! BTW, the earlier glass trays have a warning on them where "FRONT" is printed on the later units. It states the tray is a special glass/construction and that the oven should not be operated without the tray installed. Glad you found a replacement ; )

Wattage

There is a big difference between input wattage and output wattage. Someone else could 'splain it better -Perhaps a geek?

Anyway, my RR-700 has an output wattage of 700, and it is fast enough for me. I couldn't imagine using a new 1000- 1100 watt microwave.

Because of the layout, it shares a circuit with the refrigerator. Both have been on at the same time, and not blown a fuse.

input wattage vs output wattage

Like many things, microwaves are not 100% efficient at converting the power taken in to the power outputted to the food. That's one of the things that has improved, the newer 1000-1100 watt models use about the same amount of input power as the old ovens did for 600-700 output
