Ironrite - made out of wood!

So, just about had enough with work today, and needed to chill for a while. So, I stopped by one of my usual haunts and discovered this. It's an Ironrite - but built into a wooden cabinet. (For any of you Atlanta-based appliance types)...it's at Antiques and Beyond on Cheshire Bridge.

It seems to be in great shape. There is a little chip on top, where it could use a small piece of veneer glued back on, and it needs hardware for the front - but it looks like a fine piece of furniture. Mahogany with crotch mahogany corners and it has graceful legs.

I would get it - but I just don't need it!

Cool, although I was expecting to see something a little more Flintstoney,, it's quite nice.. How much were they asking?

Lawdy! Never know WHAT you're going to see here! An Ironrite in mahogany! The logo looks more Jetsons than Flintstones. Guessing mid/late 50s.

This is just like the one my Aunt Flossie had.  It sat in her breaakfast area.

It is a Model 88. These were produced in the late 40's and 50's. There were not as popular as the metal encased versions. There are several versions of the 88 and some had a lighter / blonde wood, and the Mahogany is shown in the post. There was another version done in the 60's that had that mid-century look to it.
