Is anyone interested in a 1972 White Lady K washer?

I have one of those reconnections with reality going on that we washer collectors seem to have from time to time, and I'm thinking about the vintage machines in my collection. I am not worried about the later belt drives that I have, as I think there is a limited market for me to re-do those machines and find them respectful owners, however I have accumulated some more vintage stuff that I just had to rescue, but now am wondering what the heck to do with some of them.

Last summer I spent a lot of time on a 1972 Coppertone Lady K washer, which was quite fun to work on. So, when I spied a white copy of the same machine at a source of mine in Arizona, I grabbed it. Being an AZ machine it is nearly rust-free, it is clean, and in nice shape. If I'm going to be getting a matching dryer for the coppertone washer, something needs to go, and it may as well be a desirble piano key machine that someone here may want.

So, with that in mind, if anyone is serious about wanting a nice '72 Lady, please let me know. I can arrange to deliver it as-is or can re-new it somewhat before it leaves.

Money shot - this is 'as found' with no clean-up. The cell phone seems to exagerate the dirt as it looks better in person.

With her door closed. Quite a nice machine. I haven't found anything mechanical wrong. It spins, agitates, etc all in "quiet pak" standard fashion with almost no audible sound other than a muted hum and the solenoids clicking occasionally.

That is the exact washer a girl in my 2nd grade class had. I remember thinking how neat the hood was.

Are you sure that's a '72? looks exactly like the '73 I had for many years. There might have been some overlap in model years so I'm not sure.

Yes, I am sure, here's how: It's model is 110.7204901. There wasn't a '73 model Lady K actually, and surprisingly, there were only two true 1973 models, a very common 60-series plastic top machine and an 80-series. This means that all the other models manufactured in 1973 were introduced in 1971 or 1972, etc.

The machine pictured is actually an early '72. In 1973 the conversion/switch to the plastic tub ring took place, which seems to have started in the upper echelons of the line with the Lady in the first quarter of 1973. My other '72 Lady (model 110.7204903) is a February '73 machine which has the plastic tub ring, yet a I have a Feb. '73 60-series which is two weeks newer and built in the same factory, yet it has the metal ring.

Since my machine has the metal tub ring and the early model number, I know it to be a 1972 built machine, without checking the serial.

Vintage Kenmore washers

Hello to everyone,Does anyone know where I can get what I believe is a 1967 series 70 Kenmore washer? This model had black and chrome colored plastic knobs,with a dial light above the timer knob. They are really something to see!Thanks,Walt
