I suppose, possibly, that this topic might be geared to people and children/teens with possible issues.
But I'm not out to offend anybody, I just think it's kind of amusing....

Ever read the ingredients on some "food" products and chuckle?
How about some appliances?

I remember decades ago, buying a hair blowdryer, and reading the instructions for it.
At that time, the 1970s, and moonlighting as a Disco DJ, I wanted to look nice for the gig.
But reading the warning section of the blowdryer's manual, one of the many warnings was...
"Do Not Use While Sleeping"
And: "Do Not Use While Bathing"
DUH!..... imagine that!

And, about food labels....
Fairly recently, I picked up a few jars of peanut butter on sale while shopping.
Mind you, it's Peanut Butter....
On the label, below the ingredients it says: "Contains Peanuts"
Well DUH!
I understand that some people have allergies to peanuts, but why put such a disclaimer on something like that?
I mean, are some people really that dumb?
Has that "Dumbing Down" of America anything to do with that?
Or has lack of Common Sense turned into a widespread social disease.

Got any other amusing warnings?
Be my guest! 😄

Yep, and no ones perfect. Until recently, I flushed Kleenex. We never had a problem before, but our copper toilet drain in 56 years old now. Lucked out using drain opener and boiling water. Flushed the Draino and waited overnight, then the boiling water in the morning.
Hey Mike, at least you didn't use a blowdryer while taking a pee. 😄

I remember on a car cover a warning saying "Remove the cover before driving", WTF.

Since artificial stupidity is now used for everything, a lot of people has lost common sense and aren't even able to think anymore, blindly following that new religion...

Indeed, Common Sense was seemed to dissapear from a lot of society.
I suspect that it's due to lack of proper parenting, along with that thing called "The Dumbing Down Of America". 😮

Can you imagine how much reputational damage California has done to itself by causing those stupid labels to be on every single product made warning you of cancer risk by buying and using a product without any explanation as to what the risk is.

You would not be able to calculate the billions of dollars this stupid regulation has caused companies all over the world, but look at all the employment with people having to stick those silly little stickers on everything, lol

It's been accepted fact that Caifornia is a state with countless and annoying regulations for decades.

My one and ONLY visit to that state in 1999 proved to me that many people there are living in a Twilight Zone mentality.
And I also think it's due to governmental greed enhanced by misinformation.
How come the lack of these idiotic regulations in other states aren't mandatory?
I, for one never got cancer buying and touching an extention cord with that warning.

We were there in 2006. Regardless of problems. it's beautiful and wonderful state. Every state has some issue or problem. I have 6 first cousins and many second and third who grew up in southern California and all still live there. A few north of Sacramento towards Tahoe. My aunt and uncle left western Pa. in Winter 0f 1953 and never looked back. They and their kids and grandkids do and did very well.

As a lifelong Native Californian I’m really sick and tired of this “California Bashing”! Just because we Californian’s recognize the necessity of combating climate change and the relentless attack on Human and Civil Rights by the GOP we are considered to be the enemy. California has always been ahead of the curve as far as environmental and social progress. Most Californias love their state.

The quest to go back to “the good old days” when racial discrimination was the norm and Gay people were locked in the closet, and wholesale pollution and destruction of the environment was rampant is offensive.

The only folks that would benefit by this trip Back to the Future are the bigoted and the obscenely wealthy. If we fail to preserve our natural resources and the rights of ALL human beings we eventually will be living in world that will be good for no one.

Exactly Eddie, because most of us eat at least produce like lettuce and raisins and might drink wine from California. So thank your legislature for keeping the irrigation water and soil safe from toxic chemicals.

Ok, Eddie, so I've highlighted several parts of what you mentioned.
I have a friend who lives in San Diego who's told me what's going on out there.

I, for one, don't consider it "bashing" when something is known as facts.
I realize that Some people have a strong desire to protect their domain.
The term "solidarity" and "comradery" comes to mind - and it's a natural trait among humans, and even animals.

You pointed out several mentions relating to the environment.
Since those things are so important, then how come those California wildfires every year spread and cause distruction because of unkept forrest lands?
Or the maintenance of the electrical grids?
My friend in SD said that if government resources spent the needed money on envronmental protections as they should, then those fires wouldn't be such an issue.
You would think that having a successful system of being pro-active would be a good thing to focus on.
Blaming the GOP for things isn't going to change facts.
Better to focus on blaming the local state's individuals for their lack of dedication to rectify local issues.
It's also true fact that many Californians have fled the state due to much of the turmoil, because they've had enough.

Matt,
Wildfires are happening not only in California, but all over the rest of the country and the world now and they are primarily due to the effects of Climate Change that is un checked and unacknowledged by many that refuse to alter their practices that help to perpetuate it. In Northern California Pacific Gas and Electric had been undergrounding in the power transmission lines for the past few years and we, the rate payers have been paying for this on our monthly PG&E bills. Many of the forests that have been improperly maintained are owned by the Federal government, and the Feds haven’t provided the funding to maintain these forests.

In my county our public officials are very proactive about the prevention of wildfires. But with the changing weather patterns and the high winds and extreme heat in summer its almost impossible to completely prevent wildfires. Anybody that doesn’t like California is welcome to leave it. But for those of use that are Natives most of us love our state and would never leave it.

The world is changing rapidly due to Climate Change and not just here in the Golden State. I watch the news everyday and I see the devastating effects of Climate Change happening all across the nation. It’s up to ALL of use to be willing to change our habits to save the planet.

I personally drive as little as possible and can do so since I’m now retired. Since the Pandemic I’ve only driven about 1500 or less miles per year and we only own one car. I haven’t flown on an airplane in 40 years. Since our last drought I’ve been taking “Navy Showers” wetting down, then turning off the water, lathering and then rinsing off quickly. We compost and recycle, turn off lights in rooms not being used and practice any other manner of conservation that we can. And I don’t find these conservative practices the least bit onerous, I consider it to be my personal responsibility as an inhabitant of Mother Earth.

I don’t doubt that your friend in San Diego has a different take on California than I do. There is a vast difference in the mindset and opinions of Northern Californians vs Southern Californians. The opinion of one individual in San Diego isn’t reflective of the entire populace of California.

I personally believe that EVERY person should be proud of their state and do their best to make their state, county and cities the best that they can be. It’s a good thing to have pride in your community.

Eddie

California has had severe fires, earthquakes, monsoon rains and mud slides for two centuries or more. The Santa Anna winds fuel the fires.
Giant economic power, agriculture, leader in education, technology, health and medical research and development, aerospace, etc., etc.
Let's talk instead about the lowest scoring states in education, and other problems. Measles outbreak, non vaxers, hurricanes, sink holes, etc. Wow, now who could be to blame in those rouge' states???
