Aussie Version
Heya folks,
We've got this exact machine (only because we couldn't afford the speed queen at the time) and have been more than happy with it...
There are a few points to note though - and please keep in mind that we have the Aussie version (Not sure if it's any different to the US one), But, it's rather noisy - but mostly from the 'screw' on the upper half of the agitator that can rattle when on low water levels. Ours has a neutral drain (was hoping for a spin drain) and if you open the lid during the neutral drain - this then engages the transmission to spin... (Not recommended when still full of water! LOL)
I'd like to increase the 'Super Plus' load size and add some more water - but have no idea how to... Figured I shouldn't play with it till the warranty expires. But overall - we're happy with it - considering it's about the best (short of a speed queen) here in Australia - well in my opinion anyway... We paid about $1100.00 for our nearly 12 months ago - and oddly enough - you don't often see them advertised or displayed. But the RRP when we bought was $1600.00!! Ludicrous if you ask me for a fancied up Whirly. Also wish we could get a window lid on the Aussie model - but alas - and the lid switch is difficult to get 'man-hands' into! LOL
Does anyone know if Maytag/Whirlpool will ever release the matching dryer over here??? I keep asking the question of Maytag - but they're never sure... Oh and LOVE that you can turn the timer in both directions... Shame that all the control knobs are consisten with their feel though - obviously different switches in behind - this cheapens the feel somewhat for me...
Otherwise though - very happy with it for what it is... But still - prefer the SQ's anyday!
Cheers Steve...
