Is this a Hobart K-Aid or Whirlpool..

My L.G. dishwasher is not cleaning good for some reason.I have ran dishwasher cleaner and have 30% Phosphates in the detergent

and there is grit and grime left after running the machine through two power scrub cycles.I don't understand my only theory is

there is something wrong with the inverter and the pump is not getting the power it needs because it is not stopped up.I found this

old Kitchenaid near me and was wondering if this is a hobart job or a Whirlpool powerclean ??? In 5 years I have spent 4000 bucks

on dishwasher's each lasting about a year and half and then fall apart.If this is in good shape I am going to buy it or I will break down

I would say it really doesn't matter which it is, it's got to be better than what you have now.  

 

While everyone want's a Hobart built KA, I've heard the WP built KA's are still really good.   I'm sure SteveT or others will confirm.

 

So I say take a chance and go for it Wes!

Here's my own testimonial.

 

That looks like the KUDI-21 that served us without fail for 18 years at our previous house.  It could be a 22 or a 23, but they'll all perform the same, with the 23 perhaps doing a better job since it would have the WP Power Module system.  Without an interior shot there's no way I can tell.

 

Whether it's a series 21, 22 or 23, it's still going to have a predominantly Hobart design even though Whirlpool had taken over the KA brand by then.

 

If the machine is operational and in decent shape (lift the wash arm off and remove the outer filter so you can examine the fine mesh filter below it) without any major rust or leak issues, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it if you feel it's priced reasonably.

My mother has that same machine-- she bought in 1992 and it is still going strong today and it has never had a repair.
