Looking at my local craigslist, the dryer pictured below is for sale along with a newer glass top Maytag top loader.

I know the washer is new and not very good - I wanted a whirlpool direct drive, but there are none in my local market for now, so I'm looking at cheap and acceptable options. (Want a top loader after bad experiences with mildew)

The dryer looks like it could be a solid early-2000s model though. Can anyone tell from the pictures if it's a good one?

Yep, the classic Stream of Heat design.

Most likely the last dryers to have a porcelain top.

The dryer is a very average performer that’s still quite fixable, a whirlpool Kenmore or KitchenAid 29 inch dryer isn’t much better machine KitchenAid dryers also have porcelain tops to the end.

If you had mold problems with the front load washer, you need some serious lessons and how to do laundry, washing machine machines do not mold unless you’re doing a half ass job of doing laundry and then you’re leaving all the soil in the machine, keep in mind that top load washers also have serious mold issues at times.
