I cannot see a motor costing 300, I think you can make the repair yourself.

Now, how do I increase the Speed Queen water level control?

Remove the three screws holding the control panel to the top, find the pressure switch behind the water level dial. The screw going into the middle of the switch is the adjustment screw: turn it 1/4 turn clockwise for every additional inch of desired water height.

The above is from memory, if any of it is wrong someone please chime in.

300.00 is not just for the motor.....labor included!......most new motors run about 100.00, give or take...

Cost Of Replacing A Dryer Motor

The retail cost of a new dryer motor runs anywhere from $130-over $200 for the motor alone, so $300 total is probably about average for the complete job.

Okay, I removed the front panel on the washer, everything looks good except some black dust from belt wear.

Should the belt be replaced now or wait until it becomes an issue?

Just a thought, but you  might still find the matching dryer lurking around behind a Lowes...

Our Lowes & HD stores have a 15 foot high chain link fence around the back storage area and a top cover of the area also made of chain link. No getting inside there for anything. I know, I've looked!

Update on the SQ:

I ran it through a cycle today, water level filled nicely to the top row of holes, no adjustment needed there. Very quiet machine, my Maytag A712 has more powerful hum, but in a good way.

Last thing before handing over the keys to the new owner is to check the inlet valve for the restriction on the hot side..
