Unfortunately, the only response you're going to get is going to say, "sorry these are sold already but here's a link where you can find another washer/dryer", which is just spam. All those CL ads with those weird gmail.com addresses are fake. And the price is always too good to be true. Usually they do that on almost-new stuff.

I've adopted the philosophy that any and all CL ads that offer a g-mail address for response is a scam. There are two legitimate ways to respond to a CL ad, either 1) by responding back to the seller through the CL system (which protects both parties' identities), or 2) by using a phone number offered by the seller (although a phone number could be a scam as well, and with the use of cell phones these days it's impossible to know where a seller is located based on a phone number's area code).
Most times when I come across an ad in which the seller boldly advertises a g-mail address for response, I will flag the ad. I have zero confidence that the ad is legit.

Thank You all for the info, I am not as tech savvy as many of you.
I had hip replacement surgery in June and am doing well. I think I will pass on this. No need to open "Pandora's box" at this particular time. I would have to round up help if this was legit. I must say it is the first one I have ever noticed on a local craigslist ad.

Funky emailaddresses are usually used to avoid spam email or to give an emailaddress when the website doesn't allow it.
heck I only do my real phone number landline only number
once in a while I get a ,I believe, a..... "CL SECRET shopper" call. Like they say interested and will show up soon.
I even called them back
they DID NOT show up.. but only happens once in a while.
when I did the email Route.... got scam junk
So I say "calls only notexting etc."
I did a lot better back in the city before we moved here.

I have a GMail address, among others, does that mean I'm automatically a scammer? Or does it mean that I don't want a lot of spam EMail at my regular address?

No, of course not. However, if you posted a much-sought-after item for an unbelievably low price, placed the ad in the incorrect category, did not include a location, and placed your contact information in the body of the text, I would view your ad as a scam.
Otherwise, gmail addresses work all day long for countless people - you included.

I'm not sure if I agree that $155 for a 1970s washing machine unbelievably good price like the car. I also have a Gmail address in addition to my yahoo address. I would use my Gmail address if I was responding to something that I thought was fishy because I don't really care about it.
I wouldn't say that set is an unbelievably low price. But they do have 2 Email addresses listed, which raises the red flag.
