Got my new to me 92 Kitchenaid Portable home and inside the tub was this nasty brown smelly goop... I am running it through a cycle now with vinager.... I tried a little bleach but i had so many suds it was pouring out the front.. Whoops... I can tell this thing has some power

I don't know what that brown stuff is, but if vinegar doesn't take care of it, try to find some Lemi Shine Dishwasher Cleaner.  It's a different product than the Lemi Shine glassware additive.   I got a 3-pack of it at Target a while back, but now they don't seem to carry it.

Whatever it is

Is a nightmare.. It stinks, its very foamy and its causing the machine to over flow lol...

I am 45 miles from a target... Its 11 pm and im already down 1/2 gallon of White vinager... Running the 2nd cycle
 
Cleaning Dried Rinse Aid Out Of A DW

The first thing to always use to clean the inside of a DW is a high quality DW detergent, such as the high priced detergent tablets.

 

For the sudsing use cooking oil and put down an old bath towel and let the DW run a cycle or two.

 

Vinegar is ok for mineral buildup, but even for these it is better to use a proper DWer cleaner.
