I'm sure most of you people know that I'm working at Miele Norway. Like the rest of brands, we get a bunch of macines that is going to be throwed away...and at Miele NOBODY can take a old trowed away machine home or things like that...and me, that cries when I see machines being throwed away is near to brek down when I see all the nice machines wich are going to be throwed away.

This is todays machines(Miele W833 and Electrolux Wascator WE55MP QSR)... And I'm asking you to pray a little prayer for all those poor machines that ends their lifes, crushed, in the big blue container!

That Wascator is a very similar model to the ones I used while an employee at Alveston Hall Hotel 2000 - 2002.

Ours had buttons on them which denoted the wash action and temperature.

what a pity :-(

... do agree with you !
Wascators are the only E'lux made machines that have same quality as mieles

A question : compare the Navitronic and the PW 6055 Profitronic.
Leaving a part different times in programmes and the outer stainless steel cabinet, what are the main differences between household and professional mieles ?

Wascomat here in the states almost the same

Nothing to write home about.. Were very good a 8 or 10 years ago but trash now.

Miele has the same policy here in the States, at least according to Miele reps and techs one has spoken with over the years. Normally employees are not allowed to "have" or even purchase units that are otherwise going to be destroyed. This explains why one never sees "factory reconditioned" or "seconds" when it comes to Miele around here.

Once and a while Miele employees at headquarters and such are allowed to purchase units that otherwise would have to be shipped back to Germany, but again according to persons one has spoken with, prices aren't a "give away" by anymeans.

IIRC Miele dealers are supposed to send back discontinued models to Miele USA, unless Miele themselves say otherwise. Local PC Richards had a W1918 on their floor, long after the model was discontinued because Miele wouldn't pay to have it shipped back to their warehouse, and the vendor wasn't paying either. Think after a year or so the machine finally shifted.

One has to hand it to Miele, they run a very tight distribution system, at least here in the United States. In Europe things are slightly different. One can go to any number of Miele certified parts dealers and purchase parts for DIY repairs. IIRC, in the State one has to order directly from Miele (at their very inflated rates).

The PW6055 and Navotronic looks very similar, but on the inside they are very different. And the PW is deeper than the W(household).
I've changed outertub on a PW5054, and the drum is a 6kg, but it's space to put in a 8kg drum:P

I love those wascators, they´re great! I washed with a similar professional machine with a Zanussi label when I was 8 years old, they´re fast and do a great job...and they perform excellent sudslocks. LOL
I saw a Miele Primavera washing machine on the street yesterday, it´s about 8 years old and it´s broken. But I didn´t want it..
