Was that considered a mini fridge back in the 40's, or a regular sized one that's mini to us now?

That is definitely a mini fridge. Regular sized refrigerators of that time period were much taller, usually had at least three, usually four, shelves. I've never seen a mini that old - didn't know they made them. Wish I lived closer, and that it was cheaper.
