I BROKE DOWN

I finally caved in and did something life changing today.
Call the Men in White coats and get me a straight jacket! Ive gone CrAzY!
I feel calm yet sick, sane yet in a trance.

I did the shopping after i finished work at 7am ( i work for Tesco which is 24hr) and I bought a small pack of ARIEL BIO Tabs and a bottle of conc Yellow LENOR.
(Also a bottle of original Fairy Liquid, as we were out of Persil Aloe Vera. So im all P&Gs at the minute.)

WITH GOOD REASON
Going to wash some whites at 40*c in the Hotpoint later.
Be interesting to see the rinse quality and wash performance.
The whites,
are 4 bath sheets
6 grimy dishcloths
6 toilet cloths
6 t towels
some grimy cloths ive used for window cleaning and oven cleaning
and some old white t shirts etc.

After ive washed them on 40 i will compare the cleaning capability and then run them through another 95*c wash with Ariel anyway. Or if it doesnt rinse it will be with Persil and the Ariel tabs will be thrown away.

I am not convinced on the bacteria levels being low enough for my tea towels especially as the "DANGER ZONE" for bacteria growth is 37*c - 63*c, im so worried if i dont wash them again on boil .

The DANGER ZONE is what Chefs go on when they cook food.
Law states the min temp to cook food is 72*c (82*c in Scotland wher they had some mither a few years ago with crap chefs not complying to the law) which is well clear of the Danger Zone.
So when washing at 60*c is not quite out of that zone the detergent is meant to compensate.
This is why Mieles offer a 75*c cycle which is way out the Danger Zone but more "ECO" than 95*c.

Well have a good day and il let you know the results.

Nick

I predict:
Sudsy wash, especially toward the end of the wash segment.
Sudsy rinses until the last when the Lenor goes in.
Suds locked spins until the final spin (thanks to Lenor).
Pee-yewy, stinky towels at the end. Not from dirt and must, but from all the scent in Ariel and Lenor together.

You'll be back at Persil Bio in no time!

I have been using up my Ariel stock for the last 3-4 months. Today, I pulled a towel that I hadn't washed in a long time that was last washed with Persil bio tabs. Snnnnnnniiiiiiiffff! It smells so fresh and so clean still! I LOVE that stuff!

I know Persil doesn't have chlorine bleach in it, but why does stuff washed in it smell like it has been chlorinated? Man, it smells good!

Goodbye UK Ariel; welcome back UK Persil!

Nick.......

By toilet cloths I take it you men facecloths/flannels as opposed to cloths youve actually cleaned the toliet with lol????.

Also strangly the basic Miele Premier 520 does indeed have a 75 option but the mid range W3240 dosent- can only think its to do with the additional programmes it has and space on the timer???!

Nick, an ambulance is on it's way!!! LOL. Nah, it is a good detergent. Rinsing can be iffy as Peter pointed out but nothing can be as bad as the Persil Non Bio liquid mum has at the moment!

toilet cloths ive used to wipe pee up with where i lost my aim! No im joking lol. But yes ones that get put around the bathroom daily. Didnt have chance to do it today folks, fell asleep after a busy morning doing other stuff. But then it wont hurt as im sure Ariel can remove all that dried in stuff. Nick

ive never found the non bio liquid to rinse badly, but its been ages since i bought some. It does not do whites for me, but then the last time i used it, it was on chef whites and didnt cope. I think i used it to wash those heavy bath and toilet mat things with in the end, which seemed to shed loads of dye and not rinse out persil colour tabs when i was using them.

Nick - the old liquid wasn't bad at all but this new liquigel stuff plays absolute havoc!

BTW - didn't have any rinsing issues with the Colour gel tablets this weekend!
