I remember the cartoon strip where Cookie got a potato peeler. Everything they they had for dinner was potato-based and the next morning, it was hauled away.
when I was little in grade school I could see one of these in back of our cafeteria. At the time I was trying to figure out what the heck it was!

Had these in the military
Hated them. They were so hard to clean and keep sanitary and you would end up having to peel most of the potato anyways. If you forgot you had one running it could take a large potato and turn into pebbles LOL
