Okay, so for over a year now I've been searching for a double bowl double drainboard sink (as some of you may know). Well, this past Saturday that all came to an end, finally.

I proudly present my sink. It needs to be cleaned up a bit and modified, sink hole wise, because finding something that will fit it is going to be next to impossible. I really want a Dishmaster.

Speaking of Dishmater, did you guys know the company is still in business? And they still make the Imperial Four model. Sweet!

These are found in the streets of NYC every day. Double bowls were requred by law for decades.

One bowl is a shallow dish sink, the other one is a deep slop sink/ laundry tub.

ours are normally 48 inches wide (24" per sink)withoout the annoying 18 inch "wings" on the sides. Makes installing a DW under a countertop (workbench)and cabinets easier.

Those easteners

That's the thing that kills me. Kills me! All these things that I have been looking for are in abundance on the east coast. It's like nobody wants those things out there, but here on the west side, everyone snatches those things up as quickly as possible and at ridiculous prices sometimes.

I could have bought this sink sooner if I was willing to pay over $200 (not including shipping) but I was sure if I waited long enough I would find it locally for less. I got this sink for $89 and it just needs to be cleaned up with one nickel size repair in the porcelain.

You may be able to install a Dishmaster into that sink(which is beautiful, what a great find), without much/any modification. I remember, when installing ours at the cottage, that it has wall mount instructions. These are great units and haven't changed very much over the years. Parts are still available and not very expensive. We had one when I was growing up in the 60's/70's, they were quite popular here in Michigan at the time, before dishwashers were considered a necessity. IIRC, they used to be manufactured in MI too. I see it's Indiana now. My local ACE hardware sells the units, the parts and even their brand detergent(which really works well).

Yeah, I'm hoping to buy the Imperial Four off their website (with detergent) and see what I can do.

The sink has 4" centers and the Dishmaster comes with 8" centers, but the sink is cast iron, so if worse comes to worse The Hubby can get "modify" the sink a bit. Plus, the base of the Dishmaster should be big enough to cover everything up!

If you need to modify the sink the base of the DM will cover a multitude of sins. Ours did! Good Luck

Looking at the marks left by the faucet, that sink looks just like the one I grew up with. Ours had maroon linoleum on the right hand side and was a brand called American Kitchen. Actually, I think all the steel cabinets in our kitcher were that brand.

What was unique was the faucet. A large, chrome waterfall design, with the handles on the sides. The downfall was trying to find a replacement and parts for it, as it was unique to that style sink.
