Found this thrifting.

My mother had a Lifetime brand set of pots and pans and always made coffee in this Lifetime stainless steel drip pot atop her 50's Hotpoint 40" stove.

Fill'er up with coffee

Stack this on top of the bottom portion
Add the diffuser plate
Pour measured boiling water on top

Cover while dripping(brewing)

When coffee is done dripping, remove the top portion and reposition lid to lower portion

Pouring the coffee into a pink cup, maybe. But a feather boa around the handle would just be overkill.

Gary my mom used a similar coffeemaker for many years as well. I believe hers was made by Wearever. They do make great coffee.

Small holes make for better results.

the bottom hole sint he coffe area are the same size you;d see in a percolator. The hole in the top diffuser plate are TINY.

Methinks the diffuser plate is made of alumin(i)um rather than stainless-steel, which kills it for me.

And if one feels the need to use a coffee filter. Feel free: Gadget's mom used one, so I'm told.

The beach shack we used to rent had an ancient version of this type of coffee maker. Until more outlets were added so I could bring an auto-drip maker, that beater old aluminum drip pot was all I used even though other quaint old options were available. Nice find. I'd grab one if I ever saw one of this type. They are indeed perfect for camping.

Hi Gary,
I saw these types of units before. Just how do you know how much time is needed to brew. How much different is this from a regular perk?
