Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

rumor has it that they demonstrated the shock at a convention by placing a 10 lbs bag of rice inside a washer and placed a tea cup with a spoon in it, empty and on high speed spin it didnt rattle the spoon. so whatever it isn they designed, its great.

So if the suspension is that good why is that none of the supporting manuals are highlighting this. I checked on Sears.com and asked around some reps none of them seem to know about the new suspension.

I would say highlighting this fact wil open up the product to buyers like me who like the front loader but are concenred about the vibration.

HE5t

What is Sear's problem with having a front loading(or top loading)washer and matching dryer with a clear see-thru window???!!!What the Hell are they trying to hide???!!!That's why I'd never have the Kenmore front loaders again.I want to see clear through my window not having to strain my eyes. The smoked glass just doesn't do it.The chrom looks bad too.I'll bet it's a cheap plastic. Not real.

I went to see these yesterday at my local sears essentials store. Great looking machines. They feel very solid. The chrome really looks nice on these machines. However, I will agree with Laundromat here on the window thing. I bought an HE3 3yrs ago. And while it has a smoke colored lens over the window you can still pretty much see through it. Now, these lenses seem to be getting darker and darker. Why bother to put a window in the door if they are going to cover it up with a dark lens.

Gonna start building a new house after the first of the year and was considering getting another Kenmore HE#, and was even considering and HE2, but those have dark lenses too. Think I'm going with the Duet Sport. Atleast you can see through the window.

I don't think the smoke-colored glass is about what Kenmore wants to hide, it's about what we want to hide. I happen to have my laundry center in my kitchen and appreciate the fact that people can't see my underwear tumbling in the window when they come over.

HE5 Washer

Well All i have to say is that HE5T washer is no different than the 4t. Sears should have just got a contract with LG so that they could be sold in the stores just like refrid. and cooking appl. but they are to stupid and make a cheap impression. The Dryer doors are not shuting correctly. The have a problem with the locks on the top. The crome boarder around the door is bent so it pops off on a lot of the units. And to top it off some of the units are scratched at the factory and are arriving with touch up paint already on them. Now tell me if it would have been better to put the LG in the store so i could slam them and make people realize that the 4t is better then the LG. I still have to send them to Best buy to look at them. OH well Sears is going to the Sh@#$%R anyways.

HE4 HE5

I checked the new HE5's out the other day. I still wish they would remove the tinted glass. To me it's disappointing that they are not pushing the Affinity as their FL. Whats disappointing also is that the Duet, Hettie, KitchenAid and now Maytag are all the same.
Same principal as everyone TL has a dual action adj.

I will have my 4th he5 dryer delivered tomorrow. The doors won't close unless forced and then they pop back open. The doors are obviously out of line. the top latch doesn't seem to hold. I am very dissappointed so far. The washer seems to work fine. Does anyone know a # to reports problems like this. I am at a deadend as far as who to talk to if kenmore is having problems and how to fix it.

Consumer Reports has a 'First Look' report on the Hettie Mk. 5. (I saw it at CR's website.)

What they liked: Excellent water efficiency and large capacity.

What they didn't like: Energy efficiency dropped from excellent (Hettie 4) to very good with the 5; Heavy duty cycle is 1 hour and 45 minutes in length.

Full test forthcoming.

Bob, I'll bet your BIL would find these beefy machines anything but gay!

As for the smoked glass I agree with Cleanergirl. The majority of buyers probably don't care about seeing their clothes tumbling around and would just as soon not see them at all.

I can't afford them but they sure are beautiful machines.

Well folks, & Eugene, here again is whre ya just can't totally rely on CR. Now I nkow this is simply regurgitating a couple of specs, but the Sears web site has the HE4T rated for 220 kwh/year and 173 kwh/year for the HE5T. Hmm.

Heavy Duty includes the Stain-Treat option as well as the maximum wash time. Hence the extended cycle time. Stain treat can be "de" selected and the wash time adjusted for a truncated cycle.

Sexy aint it?

OK... I really like washing machines and all the motion like the rest of you.... and yes the new machines are very nice, great features etc, but can you please tell me how a washing maching can be sexy? Yes a beautiful woman or a gorgous man can be sexy, but a washing machine?

I don't mean to upset or offend anyone... I'm just asking, 'cause I don't get it.

Kevin, we might need to have NeptuneBob check in with his brother-in-law who has stated that Duets look gay. He seems to be the likely guy who can advise on laundry pairs being sexy also.

What about the HE2 Plus?

OK, last ditch effort to get some input on the HE2 Plus. Kenhe5t I emailed you directly with some questions as you advised. If you prefer, please answer them here. Can anyone give a simple thumbs up or down on this machine? On line reviews are love it or hate it and not much in between. Seems like the only people in love with this machine have not owned it for long. Can anyobody chime in on this? I'm getting pressure from my partner to take advantage of the sale at Sears this week but I don't want to be buying a bunch of problems.
Thanks for any input,

Ralph

HE2 is a nice machine, I sell alot of them, but I also get alot of phone calls saying they are having problems with them. About 30% are returned for an upgrade to the HE3t or 5t or cancelled. I would say spend the extra money and get the 3t for a larger tub, better suspension system, and imho a better looking machine!
