Due to very limited space, I have to get rid of some machines. The following machines must go:
Kenmore 90 series electronic Fabric Care DD(washer), Lady Kenmore Heavy Duty plus Electronic Fabric care (Washer), Maytag washer, Wascomat front loader. I can take parts off these machines for you guys/gals or you can have the whole machines.

Waaaaaaaait a minute...

Do you know what's wrong with the belt drive Lady Kenmore electronic washer? Also, what transmission do you have in the Maytag, the old long stroke or the newer short stroke Orbital?

I am moving to Cincinnati and if all goes to plan I will be arriving Monday evening. Perhaps we can help each other out a bit.

Cheers,
Dave

The maytag has the short stroke Transmission. The Lady Kenmore has lots of issues. It basically needs to be all taken apart and painted. The outer drum needs to be serviced as well. The last time I used it, it leaked and was very noisy. I think this machine is kinda hard to find, but I'm sure it still has some good parts (electronic boards, etc).

My educated guess would be that if the machine is leaking badly externally, it is probably leaking internally through the centerpost as well. This eventually causes fouling of the gearcase oil, wear of the bearings and spin tube, and a loss of lubrication on the basket drive pulley. All those things in concert cause a machine to get noisy. There is very possibly oil spewed by the belt all through the lower cabinet.

When this happens, all is not lost however if you're able to work on machines. I start by fully dismembering the machine, installing a new upper spin bearing (if not both) and new upper seal, and a new seal in the spin tube. If the gearcase is full of water or rusty oil, I replace that or thoroughly clean and re-oil the old one, and re-install. A new belt and pump are adviseable. Then of course fix the tub leak, and the machine should be good to go for almost another lifetime.

This can all be done with about $50 in parts (if you use the old transmission) and about 8 - 10 hours of your time, assuming the machine comes apart without being stubborn.

I have at least three electronic control panels if anyone needs parts from them.

I've tried to get the agitator out before and I could not because the bolt is rusted into the shaft. The machine was given to me like that and I've tried to get the tub apart, however I do not have a hydraulic puller to get the spin tube out.

volvoguy87,
Tuesday may work better for me.

Scheduling.

I don't expect to get to Cincy until Monday evening at the earliest, assuming all goes well. Unfortunately, my housemate is not going to be off of work until Sunday. I'll need my housemate because he can help load and unload, and he is the one who owns a truck. I doubt I could fit a Lady Kenmore in my little Saab, even if it is a hatchback. Did I also see the Lady Kenmore's matching dryer as well?

Is there anything wrong with the Maytag? A neighbor might be able to use it, otherwise if you are parting it out and there are parts nobody wants, I might be interested in a few for my housemate's A206.

Thanks,
Dave

Well, When I took the Maytag out of the basement (several years ago) there was nothing wrong with it, it just has a smaller capacity tub than the Whirlpool 11 cycle 3 speed machine that I have. My mom used the maytag, and she wanted a machine that had a bigger capacity tub. Currently I do not know what is wrong with it, if anything. As far as the Lady Kenmore matching Dryer, I wanted to keep it, however if it would benefit you to have it, then I might let you have it. After all this is Dream Machine week. Let me think about it (the Lady Kenmore Dryer).

That's not the original agitator though. I took the original out because it was smaller. I think I still have it though. I'll post pictures of it later.
