Perhaps things will start getting back on track.  I posted earlier about my GE Dishwasher not draining, finally had the energy today to tear into it.  Debated how to drain the tub, was going to siphon it, but the idea of week old dirty water in my mouth was not appealing.  Tried a couple of things then dragged out the tools - that I've never used -- for my Hoover FloorMate.  I was able to start the siphon action with it, drained the tank, then sucked out as much water as I could with it.  did a continuity test, 16 ohms, not a burned out motor.  Worried it was the controller.  Dragged out a cheater cord and connected the pump to 110 directly --nothing!  Hope.

The pump is relatively easy to get out, two screws in a bracket and one screw each on the two clamps.  Pulled it, hooked it up to the cheater, still nothing.  Tried to spin the impeller with my finger but too hard to reach.  So, what do you do next?  Shake it!  Out flies an olive pit!  Relatively small.  Plug the motor back in, whirr and another olive pit came flying out.  15 minutes to reassemble and all is well.  These small olive pits must of got stuck to the bottom of a plate and no one noticed.  They were small enough to pass through the various filters too, odd.

Now to running 4-5 loads of week old dishes through the machine.  Being sick in bed last week I used very few, and I was frustrated with the mess so I ran one load through the trusty Whirlpool dishwasher in the basement, but was not looking forward to putting crystal in the "hurricane in a box".  I did run a quick rinse with a cup of bleach through it first since it gets used for odds stuff like outdoor lights and such.  So, now I have 4 or 5 other things that broke and need attention, seems like stuff breaks in cycles, nothing, then 3, 4 or 5 things  - and this time when I had the flu...

Hurricane in a box

... Is an old Whirlpool from the 80s, SHU5001.  When I put the glass chimneys from my outdoor lights and lamp posts in a month or two ago it broke one, and stipped the frosting off some of the glass...
