I used to make snow people with Ivory Snow detergent. I would pour the detergent in a bowl, add water and mix with an electric mixer. It would form a thick "snow". Spread it on balled up newspaper, add nose, eyes, buttons ect. I wanted to make one for my office but I dont find Ivory Snow (powder) at the Kroger or Wal Mart. Does anyone know if they still make it or maybe packaged under a different name?thanks!!!!

Ivory detergent snowmen

Launderess is right. Until recently the Ivory section of the P & G Website had a frequently-asked question about Ivory Snow soap...and P and G stopped making the soap powder in 1993, shortly after it began switching all its other laundry detergents to Ultra powders and Ultra liquids. I don't believe there is a laundry soap powder made any more, so you're gonna have to look on eBay or at an antiques store to find soap powders.

thanks!!! I decided to use the waste from the paper shredder. Out shredder does the cross cuts (small squares). I mixed them in a plastic bucket with water and white glue. Covered the bucket and let it sit over night...I guess I made paper mashe....anyway pressed the mixture around the news paper form, let it dry and used white craft paint. Was'nt nearly as much fun and playing in the soap...but my snow man looks cute...he's really been the talk around the office..as I'm sure his creator is as well..LOL!!
