Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Hitachi built 21 inch compact washer

All the GE hot point in JCPenney washers were made by Hitachi Sanyo did build similar machines, but they don’t look the same at all.

I think it’s funny how many people hate these hanging suspension washers and yet here we’re finding them 50 years old still working fine maybe it’s not such a bad design Suspension at least.

It is true that they tangled pretty badly and did not wash things evenly. Most models did not spin between the rinses, but they did rinse twice so the stuff did come out OK they also had a nearly 900 RPM spin which was very good for a top loading washer that was sold in the US in this timeframe .

My Haier impeller portable will do two rinses after "heavy" wash but other wise just one after "normal" or "quick"

Though rinses are short find single gives decent enough results, but still usually do another just to be on safe side.

Maddening thing is the tangling only increases with long or repeated cycles. Thus things have to be de-knotted otherwise machine often bangs and clangs during spin. If things are too unbalanced for machine's liking it will abort extraction and signal for assistance.

Aside from that GE dishwasher methinks this Haier will also need to find a new home.

I have the hotpoint version.

Although very similar, there are many differences, starting by the bleach dispenser that mine doesn't have.

I was lucky to get mine new in box. YAY.

I use it VERY often, about once a week. It washes pretty well and it rinses ok. I manually spin after wash and after first rinse.

It tangles a bit, but it's not that horrible tangling. And cleaning performance is quite impressive. Of course, it doesn't fit too much.
