Anyone know what's happened with Jenn Air, which once upon a buyout was Maytag-owned, since the Whirlpool merge? Are their products, particularly the dishwashers, now going to be Whirlpoolicized?

Their new series of finishes: "Floating Glass" and "Oiled Bronze" look pretty spiffy, although there's something not too child proof about having a glass-plated appliance - one crack placed by an unsupervised crumb cruncher at play, and the whole thing looks like butt squeeze...and the replacement panel I'm betting the farm is none too cheap to replace.

What appliance line ISN'T getting Whirlpoolicized these days?

I've seen some very elegant looking Jenn Air blenders at the local electronics superstore but haven't noticed any big ticket items. I would think that Jenn Air would be a name Whirlpool would capitalize on just like Maytag, even though the stoves that are Jenn Air's claim to fame are wimpy flimsy junk. Trust me. I own one.

In the jennair.com Web site, the "Contact Us" page reveals a Benton Harbor, MI address. In the "Explore Our Collection" link, every other kitchen and home appliance is listed except for laundry pairs, which are no longer made. After all, *if memory serves me correctly,* the Jenn-Air washers and dryers were rebadged Maytag or Whirlpool units. And since Whirlpool owns the Jenn-Air brand line, the same is true of many of the current appliance models.--Laundry Shark
