Purchased from Original Owner. Not my first Color choice, but So Immaculately clean and well taken care of. I've been wanting a Matched set of 806's and finally caught one after missing out on quite a few. Best of all, less than an Hour away!!! Yay. NO Shipping cost.

I have a Set of White '61 Maytags and a Turquoise set of '62s. Both sets are not working, but until they are done, at least I still have a Cool Daily Driver Set. I'm Excited 👍 I know we all have seen 806s before, but finally having my own, def feels different and good 😁. Thanks for reading.

Best Washes,

Louis

I remember the thrill of getting my 806s. I was coming down an escalator at Northlake Mall outside of Atlanta in the summer of 1975 and looked into the liquidation store for Davisons (Macys) and saw the DE806 still on the shipping pallet. I bought it and they delivered it to my apartment. At the time I had an avacado WIN(67) for my washer. I used the dryer for about 6 months before everything was put into storage not to be unpacked until 1978 at a condo in Annandale, VA. In 1979, I gave the WIN67 to a lady who had adopted a child and had no washer and got one of the last center dial A806 machines in the area, but it had the gold border at the bottom of the control panel. Several years later I found an A806 with the blue border to match the dryer and John helped restore it. We took the gold border machine to my mother.

Very nice find

And I’m pretty sure that the longer you have these machines the more that color will grow on you until you realize one day that you wouldn’t trade them for another even if you could. So congratulations Louis, and enjoy the many years of service these machines will give you in spite of their age.

CONGRATULATIONS...

What a beautiful set of shaded harvest gold Maytag 806's!
I know the feeling of wanting & finally getting a set! The words that come mind, exciting, thrilling, satisfied, just plain JOY!

I hope they bring you many years of joy using them.

WOOOOO HOOOOOO!
:o)

Congrats!

Those are identical to the ones I bought about 30 mins away from me last year. Owned since new (1974) by a little old lady who hardly used them. Paid $100.00 and was told after we loaded them that if I didn’t take them they were scrap the next day. They are pristine. lol

Wasn't there a tan/aqua/gold fad in the early 70's? I seem to remember one of the neighbors had a dinner set with that color theme. I didn't like it then as a kid. But that might be why this color combination was made.

Just idle thoughts.....
