Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Pete

What an old beauty and in such fine shape!

But I'm staring at the Cadillac of Maytags on the right; they are so rare.

Where is this place, Pete. Please show us and tell us more.

Thanks,

Mike

The brown dishwasher is a Maytag with the JennAir brand on it. Maytag bought out JennAir around this time and expanded their line to include dishwashers, later refrigeration and for a short time, laundry - but those were Norgetags.

The dryer next to the JennAir is a GE/Hotpoint.

- and a pump! That is a nice wringer - a good catch for someone!

I'm also impressed with how nice all the appliances on the showroom floor look - clean and shiny. You can certainly see the care they put into getting them ready for a new owner. I've been in some pretty nasty shops before and appalled at the nasty garbage they are trying to sell. Thanks for the pics, Peter!

Dave and Pete and Geoff

Pete, where is this store? And how much is the Cadillac?
Dave, make the trip.
Geoff, tell us how rare these are.

Hi Mickey ... nice to talk to you again.

Greg ... that showroom IS beautiful, isn't it? And to have vintage appliances in it; even MORE beautiful. Look at that Kenmore dryer; OUTSTANDING.

As far as "rarity" of the Maytag E2LPS; not so rare ... BUT ... in that condition IT IS! That machine looks like it is in new condition.

Pete ... is that paper on the lower roll; if so, that machine MUST be new. If not, someone sure took excellent care of it.

I love my E2LPS and take extra special care of the tub. I was very pleased when I found mine in new condition. I had always wanted a brand new Maytag wringer washer and to find one new was great! I remember seeing them on the Maytag dealer's floor years ago and instead of buying one in 1979, I bought a white A50 (portable).

Excellent machines. :-)
