I know, I know....but this was too cute to pass up. I walked into my dining room and find Nick napping in an empty gift basket on the table. I was able to grab my camera and snap a pic before he woke up.

Nick is from Seattle and has never seen snow. I set him outside during the snowstorm yesterday and the look on his face was priceless; He looked around, took a few leaps through the drifts, then made a bee-line for the great indoors.

On a sad note (for me, at least), Nick, who I've been caring for these past 8 months, will be rejoining his real human next week. Chet found a job and a pet-friendly apartment.

He looks so much like my girl Mia. And seems to do just as many cute and entertaining things.

Black or black and white cats, like dogs are my favorite.
Dave from the vacuumland forum who lives not too far away was recently looking for a new black kitten so I asked my sister who is a vet assistant to keep an eye out. And here's who she found, picture taken today. Dave's going out of town for a couple of weeks and she's already becoming attached to it. The dog is her Shadow.

My babies are not only exceedinly vain -- loving to get dressed up and preening and parading around like peacocks -- they are also big hams! All I have to do is approach with the camera and they start posing!

Cats & Dogs

I love all animals but always considered myself more of a dog person than a cat person. That was until Mia showed up one day, hungry, no collar, and invited herself to our bar-b-que table for a burger. She is the coolest cat I've ever known, and thanks to her, I am as much a cat person as a dog person. It seems black & white cats are particularly entertaining. I never gave much thought to the various breeds but now I know there can be a big difference.

Great pictures, everyone! I am a fan of both dogs and cats, but find a cat easier to care for with my crazy schedule. One thing's for sure: All our furry companions get plenty of love and attention from the AW.org family.

Larry, I loved your video!! Dan, tell us more about that beautiful dog, that is a fantastic picture. I bet that (he/she) is a wonderful dog. What a loving face.

Jeff, Dan, Pete, Diomede, Allen, Charles,

Awww!

I don't know why, but I really like dogs. Cats I can do without. To each his own.

Here are some Samoyed pix from my archive.

Here is a picture of Ivan, Micha, and Nakita up on my deck. I got all three from Samoyed Rescue. Nakita had a seizure one night, and is no longer with us, but this is the sight which would greet me when I came home from work every day. Somehow it made everything better.

I was surprised and honored recently to find that a national Samoyed Rescue organization had featured this particular image on their website.

Here's a picture of Micha relaxing and hanging his tongue out. A goofy picture of a goofy (but very lovable) dog.

Here's a (low resolution) picture of my very favorite.

For some reason, Shoney decided to take a nap on the pedals of the Hammond RT-3 one day.
