KA Dishwasher on Craigslist

This looks like a nice KA dishwasher in Little Rock. We don't seem to see this model all that often. While I have no way to pick it up for someone (my car is too small), if someone really wanted it but needed some time to get it I would be glad to store it in my garage for them. Perhaps the seller would deliver. I am in Conway which is about 20 miles from where this machine is located.

Series 19 or 20?

I'm not sure if that's a Custom or an Imperial.  It resembles the handsome 20-series Imperial Nate got after his Signature 2000 predictably self-destructed last September.

I had the Superba portable in this model....

...and ran that thing for 20+ years. I had installed it in my sisters house when hers died and after a few years she replaced it when it acquired a "noise". Not sure what the noise was but it was gone to the crusher before I knew anything about it.

That is one nice machine. It would clean anything and I loved the Soak and Scrub cycle on that model. My 17 has the Soak Cycle but it doesn't really do much. On the 17 it ciculates water briefly, sits a while and then drains. This model would start and stop a number of times during the soak cycle and heated the water at each resting time.

My 21 series has a pretty good Soak Cycle on it. That's another machine that really cleans well. Unfortunatley, it's the model with only one rinse and for some reason that bothers me a bit.

This is like a KDDI20, possibly a KDI21, but most likely a KDI20.  The start & stop sequence Soak cycle with heating water Chach described above was pretty much exclusive to Superbas.  In studying all the recent service manual postings containing all the Soak Cycle sequences on the various model series and the Imperial, Patrician, and Superba models, only the Superbas in the 18, 19, & 20 series had the best sequences with possible dual spray periods.  The lesser models only had one spray period usually for their Soak Cycles like Chach described on his KDS17.

This is KitchenAid Custom KDC-20C. It has 4 pushbuttons. The Imperial has 5.

The Custom pushbuttons matched the timer dial perfectly.

Heavy Wash
Low Energy
Rinse & Hold
Energy Saver Dry Heat Off

The Imperial Had one more button

Soak & Scrub Cycle and had a more of an aluminum front.

The Custom has the brown front shown on the on chachp's link.

And I also remember my parents had this Custom series dishwasher.

Gilles, thanks for the clarification.

 

I do prefer the look of the Imperial's aluminum control panel.  It's more attractive than the Custom's.
