Ok, I had a thread a few weeks ago about my unicouple leaking water near the faucet connection during the fill and if there was a way to attach a garden hose fitting unicouple to my Imperial Dua Cycle, I got the fittings but after putting it in turned out to be an epic fail.  I looked at my faucet fitting and it's missing a ball bearing, could that be why it doesn't stay snug to the faucet hence the water flowing over the top?

The ball bearing keeps it in place....as long as it stays on the faucet your fine.....

the leak could be coming from the little seal inside, which usually puffs up, so to speak, and forms the seal from the water pressure trying to get out....its a matter of finding another seal....these couplers are pretty standard.....or I know someone who used "O" rings as a replacement and worked.....

Marty, I don't think the coupler should jiggle back and forth on the faucet which is what it does, because I have to hold it just right to not have water escape from the top

Probably be best to replace the whole uni-couple......but most I have seen include both hoses.....somewhere around 35.00.......

I will use the model number to help look......they still use these, there has to be a replacement that would work

Why not just replace the missing ball-bearing? It's simple enough to do. Just pry the spring-ring nearest the fill hose enounh to move it from the groove. Then you can pull the snap-collar down enough to insert a new ball bearing. I'd do this over a baking sheet in case the ball bearings fall out. It's a little tricky to do, but can be done. The ball bearings hold the fixture to the faucet adapter.

general idea

Here is a exploded view of a Frigidaire dishwasher coupler.
Your KitchenAid is made using the same idea. You need the 4 ball bearings to hold the coupler to the faucet adapter. When you move the snap ring out of the way (pry it out of the groove and slide it towards the hoses) you can slide the sleeve down enough to access the ball bearings. Just hold the coupler in an upright position (like figure 76).
