Well i heard i good clunk while doing a load of dishes. And my motor stoped. Pulled the support arm off to check the impeller. It looked good no glass or any thing stopping it but.....it seems to be hitting something it turns to a point then gets stuck. Any thoughs guys gonna pull it tomorrow if i get the chance.

Stalled Motor On A KDI-19

Something is jammed in the pump or the motor had a sudden seizure, the good thing about KA pumps is that they are easy to pull apart and reassemble, let us know what you find.

Dig Deeper, young man!

You may have something stuck below the wash pump area. Go down to the next level and see if something is stuck in the drain impeller or the soft food disposer. Something could have gotten past the coarse strainer (if you have it in place) and gotten stuck in the works.

So i thought i have kds 18 in the garage with a bad timer just pull one out of there.
The one on th. Left is from the 18 broke also

Any body have a part number for this.
And of course it looks like a devloped a small leak around the motor.

Broken Drain Impeller

This was a common problem with these DWs, the KD18-20s used the same impeller and seal, if you can't find one I still have several new ones in stock. Larry at Modern Parts in Cleveland also likely still has these as there is little demand for them any longer.

Part number 435102 is the part number for the shaft seal and drain impeller kit.Their list price is 63.74. It is a better design than your original styles you show in your pictures.
The new one has larger vanes on it so it drains faster and more completely.

I am sorry that your 18 impeller broke. Did that happen when you were trying to remove it?
For the future, just swap out the complete pumps. They are interchangeable and easily removed from the machine.

No Steve it was like that when i opened the pump up. I need to just fix the 18. But i cant find a timer for a reasonable price on flea bay

The one from the 18 lasted about three loads then just shattered. If any one has a used kds 18 timer that they can sell i would be forever greatful
