KDS-19 is leaking

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Maybe something trapped in the seal or twisted some how, just give it a good wash with soapy water and rinse it and try again. If its still leaking try locate a seal or buy a universal one and cut to size with the open seal end at the top. Hope that helps

What was causing the leak on mine

3 loads of dishes ago I noticed a big puddle in front of my 18 year old Whirlpool after it shut off. I cleaned all the door seals and they seemed fine. Watched it closely when I ran another load and saw that it was leaking on the left side. The only culprit could be the vent. So I popped off the plastic cover on the inside and the vent was packed with what looked like wet lint. Cleaned that all out good and ran it again and presto, no more leaks at all.

Are you on the level?

Wasn't this machine working flawlessly at your place of employment? If it did not leak there it should not leak at home! Check to make sure that the machine is perfectly level otherwise you could have water coming out the front of the machine.

There is no gasket under the door because you need free movement of air thru the machine for it to dry the dishes, nor is there a top vent in the door like on Whirlpool Products.

Let the machine fill until it stops filling then open the door and observe the water level along the sides and back. It should be even all the way around and should be 1/4-1/2 inch below the hub(center)part of the lower wash arm. If the level is not consistent around the tub, adjust the legs on the machine to level it out You will have to loosen or remove the brackets securing the machine to the counter before doing so and then reattach them to the tank.

See if this works for you.

Also, make sure that the float in the left corner moves freely just in case you have a situation where there is too much water going into the unit and the switch is not functioning to stop it from filling. DO NOT try to adjust the switch. You have to find the problem first. Also, at the bottom of the float rod, there should be a small, round flat that sits on the switch lever. If it is gone, that will affect the switch and water level. I have plenty of floats if you need a new one.

Check it out and let us know. We will get your machine working fine for years to come.
