Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

yes there is ! But!!!!

The part number you are looking for is 00-117011 and is available from any Hobart office or from their E-Store at the link below.
This seal will fit the 15,16 and 17 series dishwashers. If you go to your local office. Just ask for the part number and don't say its for a Kitchenaid. Most likely, the person behind the counter will not even know that Hobart used to own Kitchenaid and they will not be able to offer any other technical advice at all.

Download the service manual for a 15, 16 or 17 from the Ephemera library above so you will have the instructions on how to do it properly. If you want to use the tool that is referenced in the manual. let me know and I will mail you one that I only ask that you return it when done. I think I have 2 of the only ones left in the country. At least among the Hobart techs!

The problem lies with how damaged the cooling fan on your motor is. The top mpst part of the fan supports spacing shims for the drain impeller and has to sit on a flat surface. If not, you will still have a leaking seal. These fans are not available and your only recourse would be to purchase a motor off Ebay for a kd16 -17 series machine. Or Purchase the drain pump body, p/n 00-081269 as well. Unfortunately, the gaskets for the pump are NLA but the part numbers are 00-081438 and 00-084139.

The lower seal sits in a recess in that part and also has to have a good seating surface to seal on.
If all things are good, the seal can actually be installed with the pump in the machine but sometimes it is easier to remove it and do it on a table or bench so you can see what you are doing.
You machine is a beauty and will run for a long time if you treat it well. Get rid of that iron stain from the water and that tank will look like new!
Hope this helps.

Thank you SteveT

I'll let you know about the tool going to be a couple weeks before I get to it I have the service manual for a 17. I'm assuming it should be the same info. Also in my heap would you believe I have a brand new in the bag shaft seal its a wp part but should do, I will probably still order the hobart one because of its durability.
