Nice stove, seller claims CA 1964.  I don't believe I've ever seen one of these before.

Fairly common in my hometown,we had a Kelvinator dealer as well as a Leonard dealer, my Mom bought one in 1969, but it was only a copy of a real Kelvinator and was about the sorriest range ever, but yes this IS the real deal, those odd placed controls give it away, when American Motors sold out, that feature was done away with!These also are designed to use aluminum foil for the oven liner.

AMC-Kelvinator Stove/Range

Was as ugly as thier cars were. Maybe Romney would not be a good candidate to represent the Republican party, as his daddy was a biggie with AMC/Kelvinator. What a failure! Pipe In.

Louie, they could get away with it on an electric stove because the heat is not flowing out under the pans, but into the bases of the pans.

I remember ads for these ranges with the funny positioning of the controls in Life magazines in the 60s. They saved wire by having the controls on the cooktop instead of in the backsplash. You have to wonder what the stylists were smoking to have those super-squared off lines and then those ribs on the storage drawer.
