Kelvinator Washer and Dryer

Can somebody give an approximately age on this set, I apologize as it is the only picture I have and am considering adding it to my collection. I do not know much about Kelvinator so please also let me know your thoughts on the set.

The washer looks like the standard WCI/Frigidaire design with a Westinghouse design dryer. I've never been a fan of the washer design as I've had to fix too many of them. The dryer, being most likely of Westinghouse parentage, can be a quiet running machine if gone thru and serviced.

Does anyone else think that washer is not a Kelvinator? The console doesn't appear to match the dryer. At first glance I thought it was a Kenmore, but then I noticed the lid opens back, not to the side...or is it just the weird lighting of the photo?

Too bad. It's getting harder and harder to replace an oil-fired dryer.

Forget, also, replacing one that runs on plutonium.

It is a set

The washer matches the dryer they are both bottom of the line (the lighting on the waher is very dark on the picture) The tub on the washer is polymer/plastic. It looks quite a bit like the inside of a WCI/Frigidaire. Dryer is electric, had to email to ask if big plug or little plug. When I looked at the set she showed me where it said electric or gas which was on the original sticker on the dryer cabinet showing that it could be purchased as electric or gas.

I asked if they would take less for the set and she emailed later and dropped it to $125, since it is not a dream set of mine and a bit newer I am not getting it.

The plastic/polymer tub is the giveaway; it's definitely a WCI product! And the shape of the lid should have been the other clue for me.

Depending on the age, it may spin-drain! My 1987 Frigidaire TL'er was a spin-drain. It also had the circular fill, which was fun. Not great for rollover, though.

Don't know when they switched over, but the Frigi TL'er I purchased in 2006 (which was actually assembled in May of '05) has a boring neutral drain. But the rollover is better.

I used to be a WCI-hater, mostly because of their hate-crime against Frigidaire, but I've mellowed over time and think it would be great fun to have a circa-1980-1987 WCI machine.
