I saved these from a home that was due to be taken down the other night on my way home the other night. I need to get them out of my garage asap and are free for whom ever would like them or they are going to the dump.

It has the alphabet dialing cycles so that seems like 700, but it has a Vari-Flex agitator which is TOL.

Jason, this was a 1972 or 1973 model I do belive. And it was higher end than what was in that model series the equivalent to what we could call an 800 that year. My best friend from high school's mom had the 800 equivalent I speak of as well as the house that was built next door to our lake house had that model with the matching dryer. My friends mom's previous washer was the alphabet 1960 that Dick S in Palm Springs has and waht he grew up with. When I went away to college my Freshman year Fall of 1973 the new machine was bought after Christmas break. I believe teh above was probably right below the LK. Sears had begun to slim down their line a bit now.

Although the pair above was the same color, they defintely were from separate model years. Note the deryer had the metal handle on the door as well as the metal cover on the lint screen. As you will note, the washer lid no longer had the metal pull handle. It had the indentation in the lid for the inger grip on the edge. The dryer of the same year began with the color-coordinated plastic handle in the door as well as the integral lint filter/handle and color coordinated with the dryer.

Bob's dates are correct on the washer and this was the TOL model save for the big button one with the door on the control panel. This is one of my favorites of the era. There's a similar one from a year or two earlier where the timer window is above, rather than to the left of the dial. I think on that one only the dial part lights up, whereas this one has a fluorescent light all the way across. The earlier one still had the metal lid lifter thing.

The one I remember of this had the detergent dispenser with a lid that was flush with the washer top, rather than this raised box style, so that change must have occurred during the run.

The washer is 72/73 vintage, I think the dryer is older.

Gotta' love Kenmore's variety. The probably had more console layouts over the years than anyone. Sorry to see such imagination left to the past.

Best dryer I ever had

I had that dryer, a 68 model, and it worked great. I had to put new belt and drum pads on it, and that was it. I wish I had taken it when I moved, it worked so much better than the 92 model that I bought new to replace it. Too bad it is all the way across the country or I would already have picked it up!
