Just Beautiful

I continue to be amazed by the older machines that endlessly turn up around here. It has been a good year for washing machine collectors, I am sure!

Beautiful Machine!!!!! Sure wish it were on the west coast.
My best friends mom bought that same model in 65, but hers was not a suds saver. It was in coppertone. Hope someone grabs this before it gone. This particular model was very quiet. Good Luck. Lotsosudz

Suds Savers were neat!

My parents's old Inglis washer was a suds-saver. Back then, our house was on a septic tank, so this used to be ideal. The suds was stored in the laundry tub, while the drain hose emptied out into the sump pump. The suds return cycle was neat; you turned the dial to "SUDS," and the machine would start up with the agitator oscilating. The suds would come up through the bottom perforations and the water level would rise. When the water reached the agitator, it would start with a faint "slish-slish" and work it's way up to a heavier "slosh-slosh" while the water splashed all over the place.

I always wanted to see the suds return cycle on a solid tub washer. I've never seen it, and wonder what it looked like. I tried to find it on YouTube, with no success. I just imagine that the suds would come over the top of the tub like a waterfall into a tub with the agitator oscillating. Has anybody seen the suds return cycle on a solid tub washer?
