I went to an estate sale this weekend and found this Kenmore dryer. It wasn't for sale, but was wondering when it is from. I'm guessing late 60s.

If I am not mistaken it is from 1968

What dial is it missing? I don't see any place for a dial to be? If your talking about that large dial on the right, it has a pointer on it, that turns when the little knob on the far right is turned.
Agreed: it looks like the rare, one year only 1968 Lady Kenmore model. But yes, it's also odd that is has this type of "remote" timer/dial set up like many of the early/mid 60's Frigidaire models.
I have seen two of these dryers (parted one out for John L.) and a photo of another, but none of them had this sort of remote timer dial / knob arrangement. It would be very interesting to find out what the exact model number is so Gordon can decipher it.

has a big dial with the numbers that's why I thought this one was missing its knob, and if memory serves that little knob on the right on John's is the buzzer volume....if I am not mistaken...PAT COFFEY

This one does look different than the ones we have, on ours the knob to the right of the big dial turns the Wrinkle Guard on and off, this must be an early version ? , Wheres Gordon when we really need him. John L.

If only the POD with Jane Wyatt standing in front of those 1968 Kenmores would show up at this time to give us the visual answer.
I don't recall this being a remote timer dial model. To me it does look like the knob had broken off from the housing, but it would not surprise me if Sears had this dryer designed in such a way. The reason why escapes me.

Upon looking closer, I see that the smaller knob description says "Dryness Control", which must mean it is a remote timer dial. Interesting, but a little weird.

I forgot there were that many photos in the ad. Nontheless the dryer dial does not appear to have a knob, so it must be operated by the small knob to the right. I did not realize that this was 1969 ad, but then again, the 1968 LKs carried over to 1969 until the next issued LK in 1970.
