Why would anyone buy that, especially when the matching top washer, dryer and its pedestal is probably 3 or 4 grand more. I would spend the $1500 on a top load Speed Queen set that would last me as long as I live, but I think my 84 Maytags will outlast me.

I know it can operate independently of the front loader, but I didn't think it could operate without being connected as the pedestal to the main washer.
